Job summary

Nipissing University in North Bay is seeking a Full-Time Support Staff Coordinator for Graduate Studies on a 12-month contract. The role supports graduate programs, maintains student records, and oversees scholarship processes and the graduate school website.

The successful candidate will liaise with graduate program coordinators, chairs, faculty and advisors, and provide information to Recruitment, Finance and Registrar offices.

Qualifications

• University degree required with 1–3 years of related experience.
• Experience processing graduate programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of web development, HTML coding and Dreamweaver is an asset.

Full-Time Support Staff (12-month Contract)

Reporting to the AVP, Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies the Coordinator is responsible for support of graduate studies programs including the maintenance of student academic records, scholarship applications, the development and maintenance of the graduate school website, liaising with all graduate program Coordinators, Chairs, faculty, and advisors, and assisting with Quality Council reviews. The Coordinator responds to all inquiries regarding graduate programming and advises students, faculty, the Recruitment Office, the Finance Office, and the Registrar’s Office by providing graduate school information. The Coordinator assists with the development of all graduate student programs of study and advises graduate students in making informed decisions regarding their academic progress at Nipissing to ensure they meet their degree requirements and graduation goals. In addition, the Coordinator also mentors graduate students with the preparation and submission of proposals and applications for internal and external funding.

The successful candidate will hold a university degree and have a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of work experience preferably at a postsecondary level. Experience processing graduate programs along with knowledge of web development, HTML coding and Dreamweaver software would be considered an asset.

This position is classified as Wage Grade 70, with a wage range from $30.45 per hour (Step 1) to $38.38 per hour (Step 9). Placement within the salary range will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions.

Hiring is subject to final budgetary approval.
