AvonhurstCo-op in Avonhurst, SK is hiring a General Manager to lead operations and strategy for the Co-op. You will work with the Board to interpret vision, oversee budgeting, and drive retail performance with a hands-on management approach.

You will foster strong relationships with members and the community, mentor staff, and ensure operational excellence in a rural retail environment. Competitive compensation and benefits accompany this leadership role.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience with 3-5 years leading people in the retail industry.
  • Grade 12 preferred; Class 1 license considered an asset.
  • Strong business insight and organizational savvy with ability to plan and align resources.
  • Ability to manage accountability, conflicts, and stakeholder balance.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

Whatyou’lldo:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, theGMwill have operational responsibility for the Co-op.The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and solid business and analytical insight to support and strengthenAvonhurstCo‑op’s goals and operational plans. They are resilient, committed to continuous learning, and able to draw on past experiences when navigating new challenges.The primary responsibilities of this role are, but not limited to, the following:

  • Strategy –Working closelywith the Board to interpret our vision and managing the Co-operative’s strategy by directing all aspects of the business.
  • Financial Stewardship – Leading the development of the Co-op’s operating and capital budgets and ensuring efficient operation and adherence to the budget.
  • Operations - Responsible for overall administration, co-ordination, and control of the retail, and ensuring daily success with a hands-on approach.Understands the importance ofoptimizingprocesses to drive results.
  • Leadership – Provide leadership andmaintaina positive work environment that promotes the engagement and development of team members to support the achievement of desired results.
  • Relationships –Using excellent communication skills, builds and enhances relationships with members, customers, team members. Acts as a liaison between the community and the retail.

Who you are:

You are a leader inRetail Store Operationsand:

  • Have5-7 yearsofrelevant experience with3-5 yearsleading people withintheretail industry.PreviousCo-op experienceisconsideredan asset.
  • Grade 12 preferred. Class 1 license considered an asset(acombination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Have strong businessinsightandareorganizational savvy,withan ability to plan and align resources.
