Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is hiring a General Labourer for the Sault Ste. Marie site. Under the supervision of the Site Manager, you will sort ferrous metals, weigh trucks with the RECY system, and maintain premises while delivering strong customer service.

You will operate a forklift as needed, work outdoors in all weather, and contribute to a safety-first culture. This is a full-time permanent role with vacation, benefits and RRSP matching, starting CAD 25.75 per hour with overtime after 44

Qualifications

• General Labourer; on-site at Sault Ste. Marie.
• Ability to operate a forklift when required.
• Experience in metal recycling is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort and organize ferrous metals.
• Cover scale and weigh in trucks using RECY system.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a General Labourer with experience for our Sault Ste. Marie location. Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the general maintenance of the premises.

• Receive, sort and organize different types of ferrous metals
• Cover the scale and weigh in trucks when required using the RECY system to properly weigh and track the material
• Do general maintenance of the premises
• Ensure the equipment in good condition
• Provide excellent customer service to clients on site
• Operate the Fork lift as required
• Work with a safety oriented mindset

Qualifications

• Good Computer Skills
• Experience in operating a crane
• Experience in metal recycling considered an asset
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good physical fitness
• Ability to work as a team
