Job summary

Aerotek in Prince George, BC is hiring a General Laborer to perform trailer cleaning, yard upkeep, and general shop cleanup in a fast-paced environment. You will support day-to-day operations by keeping trailers, equipment, and the yard clean, organized, and safe while assisting technicians as needed and handling regular heavy lifting.

The role splits time 50/50 between yard work and cleaning trailers, with strict adherence to site safety and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Comfort outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to clean with household cleaners and cleaning products.
• Willingness to work in both yard and trailer environments, including climbing into trailers and containers.
• Reliability and strong work ethic in a fast-paced, physically demanding role.
• Complete online health and safety modules (ComplyWorks) prior to starting.
• Attention to detail in cleaning and organizing tools and work area.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Job Description

This role involves a mix of trailer cleaning, yard maintenance, and general shop clean-up in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will support day-to-day operations by keeping trailers, equipment, and the yard clean, organized, and safe, while assisting technicians as needed and performing regular heavy lifting throughout your shift.

Responsibilities

• Sweep inside and outside of trailers to maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform full trailer clean-up, including chairs, tables, bathrooms, toilets, sinks, appliances, microwaves, walls, and floors.

• Ability to complete required online ComplyWorks health and safety modules for the site before starting.
• Attention to detail in cleaning, organizing tools, and maintaining a tidy work area.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience is an asset.
• Previous trailer cleaning or trailer yard experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, ratchets, and screwdrivers, is an advantage.
• Ability to properly complete site paperwork and log information into a computer is considered an asset.

Work Environment

The role is based in an outdoor yard environment with regular work inside modular office trailers. The pace is consistently fast, with a brief 15-minute morning meeting followed by steady, hands-on work for the rest of the day. You work closely with a team of six or more people in a highly team-oriented setting that emphasizes cooperation and a family-friendly atmosphere. The standard shift is Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch and scheduled breaks, and limited overtime expected. Summer hours may shift to an earlier schedule (for example, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), depending on business decisions. Before starting, you complete online health and safety training at home through the designated ComplyWorks orientation site. The work involves frequent heavy lifting, climbing into trailers and containers, and working outdoors in all weather conditions. The dress code requires dressing appropriately for the weather, wearing steel-toe boots, and keeping long pants and shirts on at all times. The company supplies key safety gear, including a hard hat, safety vest, gloves, and goggles, to support a safe and compliant work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
