Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring a Full-Time Security Officer for Kingsway Mall in Edmonton. You will maintain a safe environment for tenants, staff and the public, enforce policies, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with local authorities as needed.

Intensive 3-week in-house training is provided, and gear such as radios, protective vests, and equipment are supplied. A strong mentorship culture supports career development within a busy shopping centre.

Qualifications

• Security license is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Security experience is highly preferred.
• Class 5 Advanced or higher license is required (Class 7 or Class 5 GDL not accepted).
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong observational skills.

Responsibilities

• Enforce mall policies and laws at Kingsway Mall.
• Work with EPS, EMS, and EFD as needed.
• Conduct lawful arrests under applicable Canadian law.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid.
• Manage conflicts and apply use-of-force principles when necessary.

What You’ll Do

As a Security Officerat Kingsway Mall, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for tenants, staff, and the public.

Your duties will include:

• Enforcing mall policies and municipal, provincial, and federal laws
• Working alongside EPS, EMS, and EFD
• Conducting lawful arrests under Section 494 of the Canadian Criminal Code and enforcing the Trespass to Property Act
• Responding to medical emergencies and providing first aid
• Managing conflict situations and applying approved use-of-force principles when necessary

Training & Equipment

Successful candidates will complete an intensive 3-week in-house training program before being assigned to independent duties.

You will be equipped with professional-grade tools,including:

• Two-way radio communications
• Ballistic Level IIIA protective vest
• Handcuffs and other approved equipment
