Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring a Full-Time Security Guard for Sherwood Park Mall in Alberta. The role focuses on protecting patrons and property, performing patrols, responding to alarms, and coordinating with police and paramedic services as needed.

The position requires strong communication, situational awareness, and the ability to manage crowds and incidents on a busy retail campus. Training and benefits accompany a flexible shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness.
• Ability to make quick decisions in emergencies with minimal supervision.
• Ability to walk long distances and stairs during shifts.
• Authorized to legally work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and sustain effective relationships with clients and patrons.
• Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety and address policy breaches.
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
• De-escalate crisis situations, provide support, and liaise with emergency personnel.
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers.
• Write clear, detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability, and day-to-day reports.
• Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s).
• Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities.
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries.

• Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety and address policy breaches, and note any concerns
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner
• De-escalate crisis situations, provide support, and liaise with emergency personnel, including police, fire and paramedic resources
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers
• Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability, and day to day reports
• Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
• Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquires

Job Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong observational skills
• Ability to make immediate decisions while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
• Ability to walk 18/20km and stairs
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
