Job summary

Paladin Security in Calgary is seeking Experienced, High Profile Security Guard - Casual to join our team. You will perform patrols, respond to incidents, and provide excellent customer service at busy retail sites.

Required: 2+ years security experience, Alberta Security License, Grade 12, valid Driver's License, able to work rotating days/nights/weekends/holidays, and First Aid/ UOF/ MOAB certifications. We invest in our people with training and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of security experience.
• Valid Alberta Security License or ability to obtain one.
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
• Experience using CCTV systems and security technology.
• Ability to operate two-way radio communications.
• Physically capable of long patrols and terrain challenges.
• Able to work outdoors, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain.
• Complete Paladin training and certifications within three months of hire.
• Previous retail security experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform high visibility patrols by foot, bicycle, or vehicle.
• Identify, document, and report safety hazards.
• Assist tenants and merchants with incidents and investigations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid.
• Prepare detailed incident reports using site reporting systems.
• Address trespassing and unauthorized access professionally.
• Monitor security systems and life-safety equipment.
• Direct incident response and coordinate personnel during incidents.
• Maintain activity logs and records.
• Review CCTV footage for investigations and follow-up actions.

Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Perform high visibility patrols by foot, bicycle, or vehicle while engaging with tenants, guests,visitorsand employees on a regular basis and provide exemplary customer service andassistance
• Identify, document, and report safety hazards and operational deficiencies
• Assisttenants and merchants with incidents and criminal activity investigations
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders whenrequired
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, and AEDassistance
• Prepare detailed incident reports using site reporting systems
• Address trespassing and unauthorized access situations safely and professionally
• Monitor security systems and life-safety equipment
• Must be able to provide verbal or written direction clearly to coordinate incident response, activating emergency services, directing security/operations personnel on required actions during incidents while following established procedures.
• Maintainaccurateactivity logs and records
• Review CCTV footage for investigations and follow-up actions
• Answer and manage incoming security communications
• Monitor and manage fire alarm and sprinkler systems asrequired
• Ensure compliance with site policies, procedures, and standard operating practices

Must Have

• 2+ yearsprevioussecurity experience
• Valid Alberta Security License or ability to obtain one
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong observational abilities and attention to detail
• Proficiencywith Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace
• Experience using CCTV systems and security technology, Ability tooperate two-way radio communications
• Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced and emergency situations
• Physical ability to conduct extensive patrols exceeding15 kmper shift
• Ability to work outdoors, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain
• Ability to safely lift and carry 20+lbsPhysically able to perform first aid andassist with medical emergency and deescalation situations as well as complete extensive security patrols that may cover 15+ km per shift and include stairs and uneven terrain both indoors and outdoors
• Ability to successfully complete all required Paladin training and certifications within three months of hire
• Previousexperience in retail security environments
