Job summary

Paladin Security seeks experienced High Profile Retail Security Guards for busy retail sites in Alberta. The role entails rotating day/night/weekend shifts with holidays, delivering exemplary customer service while patrolling and responding to incidents.

Requirements include 2+ years in security, Alberta Security License, Grade 12, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 20+ lbs. First Aid, UOF, and MOAB certifications are required and Paladin covers costs after six months with

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of security experience with retail exposure.
• Valid Alberta Security License or ability to obtain one.
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform First Aid and de-escalation if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform high visibility patrols by foot, bicycle, or vehicle.
• Identify, document, and report safety hazards.
• Assist tenants and merchants with incidents and investigations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and first responders as required.
• Respond to medical emergencies with First Aid, CPR, and AED.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain logs.
• Monitor CCTV and life-safety systems; manage access control.
• Operate two-way radios and communicate clearly during incidents.

First Aid, Use of Force (UOF), and MOAB certifications arerequiredas a condition of employment. Paladin Security will cover certification costs with a six-month commitment to the position and availability requirements.

Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Perform high visibility patrols by foot, bicycle, or vehicle while engaging with tenants, guests,visitorsand employees on a regular basis and provide exemplary customer service andassistance
• Identify, document, and report safety hazards and operational deficiencies
• Assisttenants and merchants with incidents and criminal activity investigations
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders whenrequired
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, and AEDassistance
• Prepare detailed incident reports using site reporting systems
• Address trespassing and unauthorized access situations safely and professionally
• Monitor security systems and life-safety equipment
• Must be able to provide verbal or written direction clearly to coordinate incident response, activating emergency services, directing security/operations personnel on required actions during incidents while following established procedures.
• Maintainaccurateactivity logs and records
• Review CCTV footage for investigations and follow-up actions
• Answer and manage incoming security communications
• Monitor and manage fire alarm and sprinkler systems asrequired
• Ensure compliance with site policies, procedures, and standard operating practices

Must Have

• 2+ yearsprevioussecurity experience
• Valid Alberta Security License or ability to obtain one
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong observational abilities and attention to detail
• Proficiencywith Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace
• Experience using CCTV systems and security technology, Ability tooperatetwo-way radio communications
• Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced and emergency situations
• Physical ability to conduct extensive patrols exceeding15 kmper shift
• Ability to work outdoors, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain
• Ability to safely lift and carry 20+lbs
• Physically able to perform first aid andassistwith medical emergency and deescalation situations as well as complete extensive security patrols that may cover 15+ km per shift and include stairs and uneven terrain both indoors and outdoors
• Ability to successfully complete all required Paladin training and certifications within three months of hire
• Previousexperience in retail security environments
• Experience coordinating emergency response activities
