Paladin Security is seeking a vigilant security officer for Hudson's Bay Centre in downtown Toronto. The role focuses on maintaining a visible presence, patrolling mall areas, and responding to incidents to keep tenants, employees, and visitors safe.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence across the property to deter theft and disturbances.
• Conduct regular patrols of common areas, entrances, and high-traffic zones.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, or medical calls as needed and coordinate with emergency services.
• Provide customer service by assisting tenants, employees, and visitors with directions and inquiries.
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily logs promptly and accurately.
• Assist with crowd management during peak periods and events.

Hours: Saturdays and Sundays (12AM to 12PM)

Overtime Method: Averaging agreement over88 hours

Job Overview:

Hudson's Bay Centre is a landmark mixed-use property located in the heart of downtown Toronto, featuring a blend of office, retail, and public spaces. The site serves a diverse community of tenants, visitors, and customers, creating a dynamic environment where security professionals play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Note: This position is primarily a static position; you may be required to remain in a singular area for and extended period of time.
• Maintain a visible presence across the property to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity
• Conduct regular patrols of the mall, includingcommon areas, entrances, and high-traffic zones
• Monitor site activity andidentifyany safety or security concerns
• Respond to incidents including disturbances, theft, medical calls, and emergencies
• Provide strong customer service byassistingtenants, employees, and visitors with directions and inquiries
• Enforce policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, and team members
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily logsin a timely manner
• Assistwith crowd management during peak periods andspecial events
• Support emergency procedures including evacuations and coordination with emergency services

Prerequisites:

• Ability to obtain a Security License in the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• Previousexperience in security, retail, or customer service is an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong observation and situational awareness
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
• Strong report writing and documentation skills
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Applicants who do notpossessthese certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
