Job summary

The Root Cellar Village Green Grocer at Oxford Corner in Victoria, BC is seeking a full-time Front End Supervisor passionate about produce and customer service. You will oversee daily front-end operations, supervise cashiers, handle tills, and ensure friendly, efficient service.

You will lead training, scheduling, and development of staff, maintain signage and store standards, and help uphold our policies while delivering an exceptional shopping experience for guests.

Qualifications

• At least one year of retail supervisory experience in grocery or front end environment.
• Passion for customer service and produce knowledge.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and train staff.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb, bend, stand for shift duration.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Full Time Front End Supervisor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have passion and knowledge for all things produce and will assist with overseeing daily operations, including cash handling, training, and developing team members, providing exemplary customer service, upholding store policies, and ensuring proper signage and cleanliness of the Front End.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• At least one year of retail supervisory experience in a grocery, food specialty or front end environment.
• A passion for providing superior customer service and sharing produce knowledge.
• A positive attitude and the desire to lead and motivate a team.
• This position requires the candidate to lift up to 25 lb, bending, stand for shift duration, climb stairs, perform repetitive tasks, and enter in coolers (4°C) and freezer (-20°C).
• The ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.
• The availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
