Job summary

The Root Cellar Village Green Grocer at Oxford Corner in Victoria, BC is looking for a friendly Cashier to join our Front-End Team. You will deliver superior customer service, handle cash, debit, and credit transactions, and help our shoppers find great local foods.

Previous cash-handling retail experience is an asset, but we are happy to train the right person. Expect a supportive team, a 20% store discount, and a flexible schedule around approximately 20 hours per week.

THE ROLE

WHAT YOUR BRING TO THE TABLE

• The ability to work a variety of shifts including mid-day weekdays and weekends, approximately 20 hours weekly.
• This position requires the candidate to lift up to 25 lb, bending, stand for shift duration, climb stairs, preform repetitive tasks, and enter in coolers (4°C) and freezer (-20°C).
• The ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a busy environment.
• The ability to work well within a team.
• Previous retail/customer service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude!
