Job summary

The Root Cellar Village Green Grocer in Victoria is seeking a Full Time Produce Shift Supervisor who loves produce and leads the department with energy and care. You will help guide the Produce Management Team, delegate tasks, train staff, and uphold our standards for freshness, quality, and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include staff development, merchandising, rotation control, inventory management, and maintaining signage and displays.

Qualifications

• Retail supervisory experience in grocery/produce environments
• Passion for delivering superior customer service and produce knowledge
• Positive attitude with desire to lead and motivate a team
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift 25–50 lbs repeatedly
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced setting
• Availability for full-time, 40 hours/week, with early and late shifts

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing, motivating, training, and developing staff per policy
• Merchandise produce to be organized and visually appealing to maximize sales
• Control product rotation and manage floor displays to limit loss
• Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and shrink
• Provide exceptional customer service for returns and inquiries
• Maintain store and display signage to meet standards
• Monitor sales floor for loss-prevention and security

THE ROLE

We are currenting seeking a Full Time Produce Shift Supervisor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have passion and knowledge for all things produce and will assist the Produce Management Team in overseeing the daily department operations, including delegating tasks, training and developing employees, providing exemplary customer service, upholding store policies, and ensuring the proper rotation and display of product to meet our high standards for freshness and quality.

• Assist in managing, motivating, training, and developing staff according to company policies and procedures.
• Merchandise produce so that it is organized and visually appealing to maximize sales and uphold overall store appearance.
• Control product rotation with produce floor stock, manage floor displays to ensure limited product loss, execute in store specials when necessary.
• Manage inventory levels to limit product loss.
• Provide exceptional customer service in all situations, including returns and complaints.
• Maintain store and display signage to set standards.
• Monitor sales floor for loss-prevention and store security purposes.
• Be a role model and inspire behavior consistent with our values.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all Team Members, customers, and vendors.

• A passion for providing superior customer service and sharing produce knowledge.
• A positive attitude and the desire to lead and motivate a team.
• The physical ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 25-50lbs repeatedly.
• The ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.
• The availability to work full time, 40 hours per week and a variety of shifts including 5:00am to 1:30pm opening shift and 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm closing shifts.
