Job summary

Brandt Tractor Ltd is seeking a Foreman at our Vernon Construction & Forestry location. The role oversees daily organization and dispatch of technicians, ensuring quality repair work for the Vernon Service Department and advising the Service Manager on technician training needs.

You will lead service technicians, maintain a safe, organized shop, mentor staff, and communicate effectively with customers, service team and branch personnel.

Qualifications

  • Heavy equipment experience is an asset.
  • Experience in a service department setting.
  • John Deere knowledge preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Candidates must be willing to be available after-hours.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Organize the work performed and ensure quality control.
  • Supervise Service Technicians.
  • Maintain an organized, clean work environment.
  • Advise and mentor Technicians.
  • Communicate with customers, service team and branch personnel.
  • Establish and maintain an on-call field schedule.
  • Talk with customers and operators by phone, email or in person.
  • Manage costs and profitability of the department.
  • Open and close work orders, prepare warranty work orders.

Brandt Tractor Ltd is currently seeking a Foreman reporting to our Vernon Construction & Forestry location.

The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for the daily organization and dispatch of technicians, providing quality repair work for the Vernon Service Department, advising and making recommendations to the Service Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Responsible for the organization of the work performed as well as quality control
  • Supervise the work of Service Technicians
  • Maintain an organized clean work environment
  • Advise and mentor Technicians
  • Commitment to customer service, service excellence and ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team and other branch personnel
  • Establish & maintain an on call field schedule
  • Converse with the customers & operators on the phone, email or in person
  • Manage costs and ensure profitability of the department
  • Opening and closing work orders, preparing work orders for warranty
What We Look For
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset
  • Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade
  • Experience in a service department setting
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products preferred
  • Forklift license preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required
  • Candidates must be willing to be available after-hours
  • Ability to lead others
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
