Job summary

Brandt in Fort McMurray seeks a Foreman to organize daily technician work, ensure quality repairs, and mentor the Service team. You will liaise with customers and the Service Manager on staffing and training needs, while maintaining cost control and service excellence.

The role emphasizes strong organizational skills, field scheduling, and the ability to work after-hours to support critical operations in the Fort McMurray service department.

Qualifications

  • Certified Journeyman in Heavy Duty Equipment trade or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and mentoring abilities to support technicians.
  • Willingness to be available after-hours and perform on-call duties.

Responsibilities

  • Organize daily work and supervise service technicians for quality control.
  • Maintain an organized, clean work environment and mentor staff.
  • Advise Service Manager on technician skills and training needs.
  • Communicate with customers and branch personnel to ensure service excellence.
  • Establish and maintain an on-call field schedule and manage costs.

Description

Brandt Tractor Ltd is currently seeking a Foreman reporting to our Fort McMurray location. The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for the daily organization and dispatch of technicians, providing quality repair work for the Fort McMurray Service Department, advising and making recommendations to the Service Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Responsible for the organization of the work performed and quality control
  • Supervise the work of service technicians
  • Maintain an organized, clean work environment
  • Advise and mentor technicians
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and other branch personnel
  • Establish & maintain an on-call field schedule
  • Converse with the customers and operators on the phone, email, or in person
  • Manage costs and ensure profitability of the department
  • Opening and closing work orders, preparing work orders for warranty
  • Other duties as required
What We Look For
  • Strong organizational skills Basic Microsoft Office skills required
  • Candidates must be willing to be available after-hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset
  • Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade required
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products preferred
