Job summary

Brandt Tractor Ltd is seeking a Foreman at our Edmonton Material Handling and Compact Construction Equipment location to organize dispatch and ensure quality repair work in the service department. You will guide technicians, advise the Service Manager on skills and training needs, and maintain efficient operations.

The role requires strong organizational ability, after-hours availability, and experience in heavy equipment service.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyman in Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work with customers and team.
• Willingness to be available after-hours and handle field scheduling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a workshop environment.
• Experience in a service department for heavy equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Organize work and ensure quality control of technician tasks.
• Supervise service technicians and maintain an orderly, safe workspace.
• Advise and mentor technicians; communicate with the service manager about training needs.
• Establish and manage an on-call field schedule for the team.
• Interact with customers and operators by phone, email, or in person.
• Monitor costs and profitability of the department.
• Open and close work orders; prepare work orders for warranty
• Perform other duties as required

Brandt Tractor Ltd is currently seeking a Foreman reporting to our Edmonton Material Handling and Compact Construction Equipment location. The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for the daily organization and dispatch of technicians, providing quality repair work for the Compact & Material Handling Service Department, advising and making recommendations to the Service Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Responsible for the organization of the work performed and quality control
• Supervise the work of service technicians Maintain an organized, clean work environment
• Advise and mentor technicians Commitment to customer service and service excellence Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and other branch personnel
• Establish & maintain an on-call field schedule
• Converse with the customers and operators on the phone, email, or in person
• Manage costs and ensure profitability of the department
• Opening and closing work orders, preparing work orders for warranty
• Other duties as required

What We Look For

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset
• Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade required
• Experience in a service department setting required
• Forklift license preferred
