Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring a Food Service Worker in Kapuskasing. You will prepare, present and serve meals, ensuring quality and presentation according to recipes and standards.

Responsibilities include prep work, safe food handling, cashiering, and assisting in maintaining sanitation and portion control. A FoodSafe Level 1 certification is required, and English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is required.
• Good command of English, both verbal and written.
• Experience in food service is an asset.
• Familiarity with cash registers is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves meals, ensuring quality of food and presentation.
• Perform prep work: washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits/vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to/from stations safely.
• Store food in designated areas with proper dating and rotation.
• Set up items for purchase daily.
• General cleaning; remove trash to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow recipes and production standards for quality and portions.
• Notify cooks if temperatures are not within limits.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay info to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas including cashiering and line serving.
