Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals while maintaining high food quality and presentation standards. You will perform prep work, cashier duties, and customer service across retail areas, ensuring safety and sanitation compliance.

The role emphasizes teamwork, efficient service, and adherence to recipes and portion controls in a healthcare/retail setting. English communication and physical fitness are required.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is required.
• Cash handling experience is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills are needed to manage heavy workload.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits/vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays safely between stations and storage areas.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Set up items for purchase daily and provide cashiering support as needed.
• Perform general cleaning and waste disposal to designated areas.
• Provide service in all retail areas including line serving and cashiering.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation requirements and monitor temperatures.
