Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to support patient and retail dining areas. The role includes prepping, serving, cash handling, and maintaining sanitation.

You will follow recipes, operate a cash register, and deliver friendly service while ensuring food safety and quality. Proficiency in English required; FoodSafe Level 1 preferred; physical ability to stand and lift as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Knowledge of basic food safety practices and sanitation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash, peel, cut and portion fruits and vegetables.
• Transport food and supplies between stations while following safety standards.
• Store and label food according to rotation procedures.
• Set up displays and items for daily sale.
• Perform general cleaning and waste disposal.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow approved recipes and serving standards for quality and temperature control.
• Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Address customer concerns and relay feedback to supervision.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance in all areas.
• Provide cashiering and line serving in retail areas.
