Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals while ensuring quality and presentation. You will follow food safety standards, operate cash registers, and assist in daily prep tasks in healthcare or retail environments.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 certification.
• Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle heavy workload.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written, and able to follow instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is an asset.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash, cut, and portion fruits and vegetables as part of daily prep.
• Transport pans, kettles, and trays between stations while following safety standards.
• Store and rotate food properly, and ensure correct dating and wrapping.
• Set up items for sale every day and keep work areas organized.
• Clean as you go, remove trash, and maintain sanitation.
• Distribute supplies and assist with equipment as needed.
• Follow recipes and production standards to ensure quality and proper temperatures.
• Provide friendly service to customers and resolve concerns with supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations in all areas.
• Assist with cashiering and line serving across retail spaces.
