Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA in Sydney, Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present, and serve meals while upholding quality and safety standards. You will handle prep tasks, maintain cleanliness, and assist with cashiering as needed in a healthcare or retail setting.

Ideal candidates have FoodSafe Level 1, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Prior food service experience is an asset, and familiarity with cash registers is helpful.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is required.
• Cash register experience is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash, peel, cut and seed fruits/vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to/from work stations, stove and fridge.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Set up items for daily purchase.
• Perform cleaning and waste disposal duties.
• Provide service including cashiering and line serving while ensuring safety standards.
