Job summary

Steam Whistle Brewing Inc is seeking a part-time bartender/server in Toronto for the busy summer period. You will greet guests, provide top-tier service, and handle opening, midday and closing duties in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires two years of serving or bartending experience, strong product knowledge, and solid teamwork. Schedule includes evenings and weekends with a seasonal framing and a $17.60/hour plus tips compensation.

Qualifications

• Two years of serving or bartending experience.
• Solid understanding of restaurant service etiquette and policies.
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience memorizing menu details and allergens.
• Knowledge of food, wine and beer; competent with POS.
• Smart Serve certification required; Cicerone/Prud’homme an asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every guest that walks in our doors with a positive attitude
• Provide excellent customer service during dining experience
• Ensure opening, midday and closing duties are completed
• Comfortable adapting to changes in service
• Efficiently provide high customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to Steam Whistle’s service standards and policies
• Follow all Steam Whistle’s Health and Safety policies and procedures

Experience and Qualifications

• Two years of serving and/or bartending experience
• Solid understanding and practical knowledge of restaurant business principles and service etiquette
• Able to work in a team environment
• Experience memorizing menu details and allergens
• General knowledge of food, wine and beer
• Competent with POS systems (Point of Sales)
• Familiar with restaurant booking software’s
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment and in customer service
• Proven to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple priorities
• Smart Serve Certification required
• Cicerone or Prud’homme Certificate is an asset

You will be offered approximately 4-5 shifts per week, that includes evenings and weekends. This is a seasonal position for the busy summer period.

The hourly rate is $17.60 per hour plus a tip-out program
