Job summary

Steam Whistle Brewing is seeking a seasonal part-time server/bartender for the busy summer period in Toronto, Ontario. You will greet guests, deliver outstanding dining service, and support opening, midday, and closing duties with a positive attitude.

Two years of serving/bartending experience is preferred, along with strong knowledge of food, wine and beer, allergen memorization, and POS competence. Smart Serve certification is required, with Cicerone/Prud’homme as a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years of serving and/or bartending experience.
• Solid knowledge of restaurant business principles and service etiquette.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Experience memorizing menu details and allergens.
• General knowledge of food, wine and beer.
• Competent with POS systems.
• Familiar with restaurant booking software.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment and in customer service.
• Proven to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Smart Serve Certification required.
• Cicerone or Prud’homme Certificate is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every guest that walks in our doors with a positive attitude


• Provide excellent customer service during dining experience


• Ensure opening, midday and closing duties are completed


• Comfortable adapting to changes in service


• Efficiently provide high customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment


• Adhere to Steam Whistle’s service standards and policies


• Follow all Steam Whistle’s Health and Safety policies and procedures

You will be offered approximately 4-5 shifts per week, that includes evenings and weekends. This is a seasonal position for the busy summer period.
The hourly rate is $17.60 per hour plus a tip-out program
