Job summary

Steam Whistle Brewing Inc. seeks part-time event staff to support bar service, setup and teardown for multiple event spaces at The Roundhouse. You will mix drinks, stock glassware, and assist with event logistics in a fast-paced brewery setting.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of server/bartender experience, Smart Serve, and a positive, professional attitude. Weekend and weekday availability encouraged; benefits include team events and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must have exceptional customer service skills with a positive and professional attitude.
• Up to date Smart Serve Certification is required/asset depending on role.
• CPR Certification and Food Handlers Certificate are assets.

Responsibilities

• Set up event spaces, tables, buffets, and station areas for brewery events.
• BARTEND and mix drinks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining wine/spirits knowledge.
• Assist with opening/closing checklists, cash out sheets, and inventory as needed.
• Return spaces to client-ready status and provide tours of the brewery when required.
• Promote Steam Whistle culture and maintain professional appearance and attitude.

Job description

As an essential member of ourevents team,you will help ensure that all guests have an amazing and exceptional experience. You will complete various tasks to successfully service events in any one of our 5 events spaces here at The Roundhouse. We provide both corporate and social events, such as cocktail party, weddings,etc..

EventAccountabilities:

• Bar set-up; stocking product, glassware, bar equipment, rental equipment
• Setup of tables, chairs, buffets, coffee stations, coat check,etc; setting tables, organizing rentals, pinning linen & organizing client items (gift bags, name cards, menus, etc.)
• Ability to carry a tray and related service equipment asrequired
• Exceptional knowledge of Steam Whistle products, house wine and spirits and specialty cocktails
• Accuracy of beverage measurements
• Accuracy with tracking consumption sheets during event
• Assistin opening and closing checklists, including cash out sheets and inventory as required/assigned
• Return event spaces to client ready status for next event
• Follow all Steam Whistle's Health & Safety policies and procedures

Setup up the event space for various events held at the brewery, including setting up the room (tables, chairs, buffets, coffee stations, coat check, etc.), setting tables, organizing rentals, pinning linen & organizing client provide items (gift bags, name cards, menus, etc.)

• Responsible for the teardown of the bar and event strike once the event has concluded
• Ability to competently and confidently bartend and mix drinks in a fast-paced environment
• Have good working knowledge of house wines and spirits
• Carry a tray and bus asrequired
• Assistinopening and closing checklists, including cash out sheets and inventory as
• require/assigned
• Responsible for leaving the gallery and hall in a presentable condition for the morning
• Ability to provide tours of the brewery for guests asrequired
• Be an active member at department meetings
• Responsible formaintainingcompany appearance,uniformand key messages during events
• Ensure polite,professionaland positive attitude isalways displayed
• Assistin promoting GBF culture; working as part of a team, leading byexampleandassistingin training for new hires

The hourly salary for this position is $23.00 per hour.

You will be offeredapproximately 2to 3 shifts per week that will include weekend
We do not use Artificial Intelligence in our selection process

Experience and Qualifications:

Must have exceptional customer service skillswith a positive and professional attitude

• 1-3years' experienceas server/ bartender in fast paced restaurant/ banquet hall/ staffing company/ event venue
• Heavy lifting(replacing kegs etc.), and stand forlong periodsof time
• Must have varying availability including some weekdays,eveningsand weekends
• Must have up to date Smart Serve Certification
• Food Handlers Certificate is an asset
• CPRCertificationis an asset
