Job summary

Steam Whistle Brewing in Toronto, ON is seeking a Line Cook to prepare and assist with menu items, delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen. You will work with a diverse team, maintain cleanliness, and uphold safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• Evening and weekend availability required.
• 1-2 years of similar experience is an asset.
• Solid understanding of restaurant principles and service etiquette.

• Ability to perform under pressure and handle priorities.

Responsibilities

• Label and downsizing of products.

Job description

The Line Cook prepares and helps prepare food for each service. This role requires extensive kitchen skills and a friendly, positive and outgoing personality. You will have excellent food presentation skills, and the ability to work and communicate with a diverse team, in an often fast-paced, high-functioning environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen
• Assist with menu development, standardization and execution
• Proper downsizing and labelling of all products
• Prepare various food items, ensuring the highest quality of food leaves the kitchen
• Adhere to Steam Whistle's service standards and policies
• Adhere to Steam Whistle's Health and Safety policies and procedures

You will be offered various shifts including weekends and evenings. The hourly rate is $19-20 per hour plus a tip-out program. AI Disclosure - We do not use Artificial Intelligence in our recruitment/selection process.

Experience and Qualifications

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
• 1-2 years of similar experience considered an asset
• Solid understanding and practical knowledge of restaurant business principles and service etiquette
