Martchtech is working with a key client to support the recruitment of a Fire & Life Safety Manager to work on high-profile railway projects in Toronto.

This position involves working on projects within the rail industry, including High Speed, Metro, LRT, and streetcars.

Responsibilities :

The Fire & Life Safety (FLS) Manager in an infrastructure design project is responsible for defining the safety and fire protection strategy. They must ensure that the design is sufficiently safe and that all involved disciplines follow the established strategy to guarantee compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

The FLS Manager will review the design to identify and correct potential fire safety and life safety hazards.

The FLS Manager will coordinate with the client and local authorities to ensure that the project meets all expectations.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a postgraduate degree in Safety, Fire Engineering, Emergency Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Desirable: Professional certifications such as CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
• Knowledge of fire safety standards and regulations (such as NFPA), as well as others related to life safety (such as OSHA), applicable to infrastructure design projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations within a construction environment.
