Job summary

Nova Scotia Power is offering a Winter 2027 Co-op term for a Financial Reporting Co-op Student in Halifax. The role supports the team responsible for annual financial reporting, MD&A, and regulatory packages, providing hands-on experience in accounting practices and disclosure management.

You’ll work with seasoned finance professionals, learn industry-standard financial systems, and gain exposure to year-end reporting processes while meeting project deadlines and contributing to stakeholder

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Completed at least the second year of the program.
• Interest in financial reporting, auditing, or corporate finance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing annual financial reporting requirements (MD&A, financial statements).
• Gather, validate, and organize financial information from various areas.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Create and maintain documentation for internal controls and audit needs.
• Follow reporting processes and checklists for accuracy.
• Collaborate with finance teams to support deadlines.
• Gain exposure to Oracle Fusion and Certent Disclosure Management.
• Support additional finance projects as required.
