Job summary

MNP LLP is seeking a Co-op Accounting Student for an 8-month term from January 2027 to August 2027. Join our Assurance & Accounting team in Canada to develop technical skills across compilations, audits, bookkeeping and tax, while applying IFRS/GAAP/ASPE knowledge and collaborating with client teams.

You will set up client files, handle AR/AP and payroll walkthroughs, and contribute to reports and engagement findings, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting/finance major preferred).
• Working toward CPA PEP prerequisites.
• Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
• Customer service experience is an asset.
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Learn IFRS/GAAP/ASPE basics and apply knowledge.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files.
• Perform AR/AP, payroll walkthrough with clients.
• Summarize current financial status with reports.
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare client communications and engagement findings.
• Collaborate with client engagement team and build client relationships.
• Contribute to process improvements using internal systems.
• Maintain flexibility to travel as needed.
