Job summary

Nova Scotia Power in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Quality Assurance Co-op Student for the 2027 Winter term (January–April). This temporary, full-time co-op role supports the ERP Product Support Technology team, providing hands-on testing for enterprise systems and business processes.

You’ll gain experience validating technology solutions, creating test scenarios, and contributing to quality management during large-scale transformations.

Qualifications

• Master's program in Information Technology, Applied Computer Science, or a related field.
• Understanding of software development and testing concepts, including functional, integration, regression, or user acceptance testing.
• Experience with test management or defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, ALM, Octane, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to business process documentation, requirements management, or enterprise system implementations.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to translate business requirements into test scenarios and test cases.

Responsibilities

• Support testing and validation activities to ensure technology solutions meet business and quality requirements.
• Assist with analyzing business processes, requirements, and system functionality.
• Create and maintain test scenarios, test cases, and supporting documentation.
• Execute functional, integration, and user-focused testing activities and document results.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes, and support defect resolution efforts.
• Assist with data analysis, reporting, and data governance activities.
• Support ongoing projects by creating reports, preparing materials, and testing technology solutions.
• Collaborate with project teams, business users, and technical resources to support project delivery.
• Participate in team meetings, presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Contribute to process improvements, documentation initiatives, and quality management activities.
• Conduct research and analysis to support project and team objectives.
