Manulife John Hancock is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to build and modernize enterprise finance platforms. You will design, develop, test, and deliver across the full software lifecycle, working with Java, Python, Node.js, SQL, and Azure data services.

Qualifications

• Around 3–5 years of professional software engineering or application development experience.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and/or Azure Data Lake Storage.
• Strong SQL skills with complex queries and Transact-SQL experience.
• Development experience with Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Experience with GitHub and modern source-control practices.
• Exposure to SQL Server and BI tools like Power BI is a plus.
• Familiarity with testing and API tools such as Selenium and Postman is an asset.
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies applied to software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deliver, and continuously improve business applications across the SDLC.
• Build and enhance solutions using Java, Python, Node.js, SQL, and Azure data services.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL and Transact-SQL for data intensive apps.
• Collaborate with Finance and Treasury stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Work with architecture, platform, engineering, and operations teams to align with enterprise standards.
• Modernize existing applications and contribute to target-state architecture.
• Develop, integrate, and support applications in a controlled enterprise environment.
• Use GitHub and modern software engineering practices for collaboration.
• Partner with risk management and technology teams to ensure proper controls.
• Create clear technical documentation from requirements to handover.
• Troubleshoot issues, diagnose root causes, and improve performance and reliability.
• Bring curiosity and propose better design and delivery approaches.
