Job summary

STACK IT Recruitment Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Full Stack Python Developer to join a financial software team building portfolio management tools for banks and institutions.

You will own features from conception to release, spanning backend services, frontend interfaces, and data layers, with hybrid work in Toronto. The role blends Python (FastAPI) on the backend with React/TypeScript on the frontend, working within a microservices architecture on Azure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Solid Python backend experience with FastAPI or a comparable web framework, including RESTful API design.
• Hands-on experience building production interfaces with React and TypeScript.
• Strong SQL skills and PostgreSQL experience, including data modeling and performance tuning.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and how services, data feeds, and integrations interact.
• Practical experience with AI coding assistants or agents such as Claude, Copilot or Cursor.

Responsibilities

• Own product features end-to-end, from requirements to release.
• Divide time across full stack, with emphasis on backend services.
• Design, build, and maintain Python services and APIs with FastAPI in a microservices setup on Azure.
• Develop maintainable UIs in React and TypeScript to present financial data and reports.
• Work with complex PostgreSQL schemas, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Aggregate data from overnight and real-time feeds for end-user reporting.
• Investigate production data issues and optimize slow queries.
• Implement logging and monitoring to support production reliability.
• Guide AI coding agents (Claude) and review Copilot-generated code in code reviews.
