Job summary

Chippewas of the Thames First Nation is seeking a Finance Administrator to manage the financial operations of the Child, Youth and Family Well-Being Services department. The role involves budgeting, reporting, and day-to-day financial administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and funding agreements.

The incumbent will work closely with leadership to improve financial processes, support audit readiness, and contribute to overall financial accountability within the department.

Qualifications

  • University degree preferred in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Post-secondary diploma in a related field may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial administration or accounting.
  • Experience with budgets, reconciliations and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation, monitoring and administration of departmental budgets.
  • Assist leadership in tracking expenditures and variances.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports and general ledger information.
  • Support completion of financial reports required by funding agencies.
  • Monitor revenues, funding agreements and financial obligations.
  • Perform general accounting duties including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with annual budgets, year-end processes and audit preparation.
  • Collaborate with Finance Department on reporting and audit requirements.
  • Support development and improvement of financial systems and controls.
  • Provide financial guidance and training to staff.
