Job summary

Anishinabek Employment & Training Services is seeking a Finance Coordinator to oversee financial operations for the Labour Market Development Department. The role involves budget administration, financial reporting, and funding agreement compliance within a First Nations context.

The position requires strong accounting skills, experience with Sage and MS Office, and willingness to travel. A defined contribution pension plan starts on day one, with group insurance after three months of employment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years' experience in financial administration, budgeting, accounting, or reporting.
  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, funding agreements, audit processes, financial controls, and compliance.
  • Experience with First Nations or Indigenous organizations is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Sage software; ability to learn new tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate financial administration and management of department funding and budgets.
  • Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, journals, and documentation in Sage.
  • Support forecasting, reporting, and funding agreement compliance.
  • Provide financial guidance and training to staff to strengthen reporting capacity.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and participate in meetings and community visits.
