Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field service professional in Calgary, Canada to install, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment at client sites. The role covers on-site preventive maintenance, commissioning of turbomachinery and package systems, and diagnostics using schematics and test instruments.

The ideal candidate will have experience with PLCs, automated process controls, and oil and gas environments, with a proactive approach to service and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience desirable.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.
• Proactive initiative and ability to seek out work and accomplish goals.
• Knowledge of problem-solving approaches, tools, and techniques.
• Knowledge of machines used in power plants and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to repair or replace faulty mechanical parts used in power plants.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment and preventive maintenance in oil and gas environments.
• Ability to repair or replace faulty mechanical parts used in hydrocarbon exploration, production, or refining.
• Knowledge of oil and gas safety procedures, practices, regulatory requirements, and hazard response.
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Ability to design, implement, and operate automated process controls.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment at customer locations using tools, parts, and technical diagrams.
• Perform on-site preventive maintenance and inspection service work.
• Perform callout services and commissioning activities on turbomachinery and package systems.
• Use test equipment, schematics, and manufacturer specifications to diagnose malfunctions.
• Use hand tools, gauges, and instruments to analyze, repair, or replace faulty parts.
• Utilize digital tools and systems.
• Check for common causes of trouble; clean and lubricate equipment as needed.
• Perform routine installations and adjust equipment within normal procedures
