Job summary

ALLPS in Sherwood Park is seeking a hands-on Worksite Support Technician to provide deskside and field IT support across County Hall and other County-managed facilities. You will deploy and configure end-user devices, troubleshoot peripherals and printers, and support meeting-room AV equipment.

This onsite role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, safe working practices, and the ability to travel between multiple locations within roughly 50 km.

Qualifications

• Hands-on deskside/field IT support experience.
• Experience deploying Windows desktops and laptops.
• Troubleshooting peripherals and printers.
• Experience with AV equipment and room connectivity.
• Basic understanding of network cabling and patching.
• Ability to track IT assets and maintain inventory.
• Strong customer service, communication and organization.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite deskside and field support for Windows 11 desktops and laptops.
• Image, configure, deploy, replace, and retrieve end-user devices under County procedures.
• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, peripherals, and connectivity issues.
• Install/configure monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, headsets, webcams, etc.
• Diagnose and resolve printer and printing issues; escalate as needed.
• Set up and troubleshoot meeting-room AV equipment and room connections.
• Assist with iPhone/iPad setup and Intune enrolment issues for managed devices.
• Perform basic physical cabling and patching following standards.
• Support equipment installs and moves across facilities within ~50 km of Sherwood Park.
• Maintain hardware inventory, asset tags, serial numbers, and deployment/return records.
• Log work performed and resolutions in IT service management system.
• Follow site access, change control, and data protection procedures.
• Ensure only County-managed devices connect to the local environment.
• Escalate incidents requiring specialist network/server/security/application support.
• Communicate progress and provide professional on-site service.
