Job summary

GTel is seeking a Coordinator, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) to support 850+ field employees across Ontario and Alberta, with occasional project work. The role emphasizes injury prevention, regulatory compliance, COR certification support, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced, operations-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Post–secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum 1-year certificate).
• 2-3 years of HSE experience in a field-based, construction, utilities, or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of Ontario and Alberta safety legislation and compliance standards.
• Experience supporting COR® programs or safety audits is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to injury prevention initiatives and ensure legislative compliance.
• Support COR® certification efforts and audit preparations in Ontario and Alberta.
• Manage Return-to-Work processes and worker accommodation planning.
• Create and maintain training bundles and administer training requirements.
• Lead and coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC).
• Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership.
