Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited in Kerwood, Ontario, is seeking a Facility Assistant II to support grain movement, sampling, and daily facility operations. The role involves loading and unloading shipments, collecting samples, grading commodities, and operating machinery with precision.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general labour experience, preferably in agriculture or farming.
• Ability to lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs) and work in dusty/allergen environments.
• Commitment to safety and operating in a compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

• Move and sample grain; assist in operation of facility processes.
• Load/unload shipments and contribute to grain movement.
• Collect, test, and record grain samples; operate machinery with care and precision.
• Perform basic calculations to blend fertilizer and maintain facility cleanliness and safety.

Your Role

As Facility Assistant II, you will be responsible for carrying out the required duties involved in the movement and sampling of grain, and the overall execution of processes involved in the operation of the facility.

Day to Day

• Contributing to the movement of grain by loading/unloading shipments
• Collecting, testing, and recording grain samples
• Exercising competency in grading commodities
• Operate machinery with confidence and precision
• Perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately blend fertilizer
• Regular facility maintenance & housekeeping
• Commitment to maintaining a safe & compliant working environment
• Other duties as required

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a general labour job, preferably in agricultural and/or farming
• Class G driver’s license
• Ability to lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to work within environment subject to dust and allergens
• Ability to work at heights
