Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited in Kerwood, Ontario is seeking a dedicated Facility Assistant II to support grain movement, sampling, and the daily operations of our facility.

You will load and unload shipments, collect and test grain samples, grade commodities, operate machinery, and assist with basic fertilizer blending, while maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment. The role requires physical fitness, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a Class G license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in general labour, preferably in agricultural and/or farming.
• Class G driver’s license.
• Ability to lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs.).
• Ability to work in environment with dust and allergens.
• Ability to work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload grain shipments.
• Collect, test, and record grain samples.
• Grade commodities.
• Operate machinery with confidence and precision.
• Perform basic math to blend fertilizer.
• Maintain facility and housekeeping; ensure safety and compliance.
• Other duties as required.

Your Role

As Facility Assistant II, you will be responsible for carrying out the required duties involved in the movement and sampling of grain, and the overall execution of processes involved in the operation of the facility.

Day to Day

• Contributing to the movement of grain by loading/unloading shipments
• Collecting, testing, and recording grain samples
• Exercising competency in grading commodities
• Operate machinery with confidence and precision
• Perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately blend fertilizer
• Regular facility maintenance & housekeepingCommitment to maintaining a safe & compliant working environment
• Other duties as required

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a general labour job, preferably in agricultural and/or farming
• Class G driver’s license
• Ability to lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to work within environment subject to dust and allergens
• Ability to work at heights
