This position will be responsible for managing internal maintenance teams, coordinating third-party contractors, and establishing systems that support long-term operational reliability and compliance.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the site’s startup phase, helping to build a strong technical foundation and operational culture as the facility scales up to full GMP production. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who excels in fast-paced, technical environments and is committed to continuous improvement, safety, and regulatory excellence.

  • Manage the transition and use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including asset tracking and maintenance KPIs.
  • Oversee third-party contractors and vendors performing services such as HVAC, electrical, pest control, waste management, and general facility upkeep.
  • Approve work permits and manage contract renewals for service vendors.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems as needed.
  • Lead maintenance activities on complex technical systems, such as containment chambers, isolators, BSCs, and other specialized equipment.
  • Monitor inventory of spare parts, consumables, and tools to ensure operational readiness.
  • Provide after-hours or on-call maintenance support when required.
  • Ensure documentation complies with GMP, provincial, and federal regulatory standards.
  • Drive improvements and lead change controls related to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Provide performance and improvement reports to site management and recommend equipment or process enhancements.
  • Support training for new maintenance hires, both hands-on and documentation-related.
  • Participate in safety training and ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, radiation protection, and environmental standards.

  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Direct experience with GMP standards is required.
