Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Ear Falls, Ontario
When you join our team as a Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
- Provide input into planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring smooth operation of the maintenance department.
- Generate, maintain, and update work orders in the Internal CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Provide training on the CMMS systems.
- Support the maintenance team in various roles, working with safety, procurement, and inventory management.
- Collect data, report, and formulate weekly work packages, maintaining KPIs for the department.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, maintain, and monitor programs and CMMS such as Internal, to maximize prompt and reliable responses to equipment issues, in compliance with the Health and Safety rules.
- Plan, coordinate, organize, and manage maintenance work activities, including scheduling manpower, shutdowns, work orders, backlog, and equipment database updates.
- Develop work plans for maintenance, including Preventative Maintenance, for efficient scheduling and execution.
- Support the maintenance team in identifying root cause failures and initiating corrective actions.
- Identify critical spare parts, work with procurement to ensure proper stock levels are maintained on-site.
- Support safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, providing feedback to the team.
- Collaborate with Operations to implement and deploy procedures and standards.
- Assist in developing annual maintenance budgets, including shutdown planning.
- Organize and facilitate weekly and daily planning meetings.
- Prioritize resources based on the nature of issues occurring.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and work with teams to improve safety and production targets.
- Develop and maintain KPIs related to planning accuracy and schedule compliance, and provide work packages for the maintenance team.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools effectively, especially Excel and Word.
- Have extensive knowledge of and experience with Internal CMMS, and be capable of training and leading others.
What You Offer
- Millwright-Journeyman, Mechanical Technologist, or equivalent qualification.
- At least three years of supervisory or planning experience in the sawmill industry.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance programs.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

- Effective communication abilities.
- Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively.
- Ability to implement change effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules.
- Experience in warehousing and purchasing is an asset.
