Job summary

YMCA Calgary is seeking an Experience Manager (Full Time) to lead program delivery across multiple departments, ensuring quality and safety. You will manage staff, develop budgets, and drive outcomes aligned with our mission of inclusion and community impact in Calgary.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of supervisory experience in youth services, strong customer service, and excellent communication. A post‑secondary diploma in recreation or related field is required, with CPR‑C and police checks

Qualifications

  • Post‑secondary diploma/degree in Recreation, Physical Literacy, Kinesiology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a supervisory capacity within an organization providing services for children and youth.
  • Customer service experience and/or experience working in a health‑focused industry or recreational facility.
  • Experience managing an effective staff team to collaboratively achieve desired outcomes.
  • Exemplary skills in the planning and delivery of developmentally appropriate sport programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technology.
  • Budget development and management.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: meet targets on the Experience Manager scorecard.
  • Respond to the immediate needs of all users to ensure excellent service.
  • Deliver programming consistent with course outlines, standards and desired outcomes.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets for Sport, Strength & Conditioning, Fitness, Youth, Daycamp, and Esports.
  • Use data as a tool for program evaluation and decision making.
  • Contribute to and participate in Project Delivery Teams with leadership as required.

What qualifications are we looking for?

Successful candidate will be required to provide:

  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR‑C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
  • Evidence of a cleared Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Three professional references required

  • Ensure programming is delivered consistent to the course outline, qualitystandardsanddesired outcomes ofYMCACalgary, as defined byProgram Experienceand Project DeliveryTeams
  • Commit to exceptional quality in the delivery of customer services
  • Develop and manage theSport, Strength & Conditioning, Fitness, Youth, andDaycamp& Climbing, E-sportsdepartmental budgets
  • Use data as a key tool in program evaluation and decision making
  • Contribute to andparticipatein a variety of Association Project Delivery Teams, providing leadership asrequired.
Staff Development and Capacity Building
  • Recruit and train the program delivery staff team
  • Commit to ensuring your staff team is afforded relevant professional development opportunities
  • As a manager within a YMCA facility,be responsible forcoaching and supporting all direct and indirect reports within the branch
Health and Safety
  • Ensure compliance to all health and safety systems, policies, and procedures within your branch
  • Ensure compliance of all certifications for staff and volunteers within yourdepartment areas
Community Engagement
  • Support the Director of Operations in ensuring the YMCA has a positive presence in the local community
Fund Development
  • Provide direct leadership and oversight to the Staff and Volunteer aspect of the Annual Campaign
