Salary: $56,096 - $70,120 / year

What qualifications are we looking for?
- Minimum of five years’ experience working in kitchen management/leadership roles
- Completion of a Red Seal Certification
- Food Safe certificate
- Experience in training and development of kitchen teams
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent customer service
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality
- Basic proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience with different food ordering and menu planning tools
- Alberta Class 5 drivers license (or Canadian equivalent) with no more than 3 demerits
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Operational Excellence
- Recruit, train, supervise and retain staff
- Oversee preparation of meals in accordance with established systems and AHS Food Safe regulations
- Plan meals, update recipes and keep food costs in line with budget
- Ensure standardized portions are adhered to and food waste is kept to a minimum
- Ensure all special dietary needs are met
- Ensure adequate storage of all food and supplies, and maintain inventory
- Provide friendly, prompt customer service
- Ensure a high level of quality, cleanliness and safety in all food preparation
- Ensure food safety and that all staff follow safe food handling and sanitary procedures
- Interact and provide service to children, families, and other guests
Staff Development and Team Building
- Maintain an engaged and responsive staff team by providing strong leadership and focusing on collaboration with the program and asset teams
- Actively develop your staff team utilizing a strength‑based approach and by engaging in regular conversation about their performance
- Be an active leader in a positive kitchen culture and respectful workplace
- Support Camp Chief Hector YMCA risk management rules and guidelines
- Be an active leader as a manager within the camp team and maintain positive collaboration with other departments
- Be part of CCH fund raising and community initiatives
