Job summary

The candidate will have to attend some conferences.

It is beneficial to have knowledge of the event and sponsorship ecosystem of Montreal.

Possibility to work outside of business hours (when hosting client events).

French and English mandatory.

About the Department

Marketing & Communications oversees the communication strategy of the Bank, in collaboration with regional and Group communications teams. We help to enhance and protect the reputation and brand of the Bank.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Define and manage the events and sponsorship strategy for Canada, including client events, internal events, sponsorships, corporate hospitality, and philanthropy initiatives. This role is both strategic and operational, requiring close collaboration with Senior Management and the Front Office.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor key trends in events to ensure high quality in ideas and delivery (virtual, in-person, hybrid).

Develop and monitor yearly event budgets in collaboration with the Head of Marketing & Communications and local front officers, emphasizing added value business content.

Develop, maintain, and upgrade critical event tools (approvals, registration, calendar planning) for team use.

Ensure post-event analysis

  • Manage events from briefing to execution: internal, industry, and proprietary events.

Review event proposals to ensure alignment with business objectives; conduct due diligence on past events to assess efficiency.

For proprietary events, understand stakeholder objectives to translate into creative, appropriate proposals.

Coordinate team efforts to optimize Group branding impact and manage costs.

Maintain and oversee existing and new sponsorships/partnerships, including budget review and database management.

Manage sponsorship contracts and activities to maximize brand visibility and activation.

Ensure high standards of business ethics and quality in event implementation.

Collaborate closely with Communications & Social Media teams and regional event platforms to share strategies, best practices, and ideas.

Coordinate philanthropy initiatives, including donations, volunteering events, and philanthropic committees.

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

At least 5 years of experience in Event Management.

Bachelor's degree in a related field

Knowledge of the banking industry and global financial markets is preferred.

Experience working in a diverse, matrix organization.

Willingness to travel as needed.

Experience with event management systems and CRM platforms is a plus but not required.

Proficiency in English and French is required.

Passionate about events, with strong project management, data management, and budget skills. Attention to detail, methodical work approach, and creativity are essential.
