Job description

My Catering Group is a multi-faceted catering company that has undergone many expansions and contractions, and we're looking to expand our team with amazing, like-minded individuals to meet our consistently growing needs. Some of our operations are currently located at the Museum of History, the Museum of Nature, and the Canadian War Museum; however, our events take place all over the city, and we'll need your help as an on-site event coordinator.

We are looking for an upbeat individual who has a passion for hospitality and is eager to join our team in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. The ideal candidate would be organized, manage their time well, have previous people management experience, and strive to provide the best service to our clients. Any experience in large-scale events and onsite management is an asset, in addition to French/English bilingualism.

This position includes but is not limited to:

  • The coordination and execution of events behind the scenes and on-site.
  • The planning of events, including coordinating rentals, creating event timelines, event management packages/operation binders, liaising with clients, executing site visits, and anticipating client needs.
  • The management of events: delegating and managing on-site staff, ensuring accurate rental quantities, and executing events on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event coordination and on-site management with a strong track record of successful events.
  • Relevant education or training in hospitality or event planning, offering a solid foundation in event management principles.
  • Proficiency in event planning software such as G Suite and Caterease.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively as they arise.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure flawless planning and execution of every event aspect.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Bilingual in French and English, capable of clear communication in both languages, enhancing client interactions.
