Fredericton Convention Centre in Fredericton, NB, is seeking an Evening Service Writer to join the Service department as a confident, energetic, customer-focused team member.

You will open repair orders, document vehicle concerns, verify recalls, process warranty claims, and communicate clearly with customers and technicians through the repair process. This role offers a competitive salary and strong benefits while promoting equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years automotive/truck dealership experience.
• Excellent customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Windows-based software (MS Excel & Word).

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers.
• Open Repair orders with accurate information to aid diagnosis.
• Verify open warranty recalls or campaigns for the customer.
• Confirm warranty eligibility and process warranty claims.
• Coordinate with Service Foreman and technicians to maintain clear customer communication.
• Keep customers informed during the repair process, including approvals, estimates and ETA.
• Ensure all charges are calculated and posted accurately to close repair orders.
• Identify potential Preventative Maintenance services and schedule them.
• Maintain organized workspace and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager or Foreman.

Job description

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Evening Service Writer is a confident, energetic, CUSTOMER FOCUSED member of the Service department.

• Greet and WELCOME customers.
• Open Repair orders with accurate and thorough information, including the details of the vehicle concerns, to assist with proper diagnosis.
• Verify open warranty recalls or campaigns available for the customer.
• Confirm Warranty eligibility and process the warranty claims.
• Work with Service Foreman and technicians to maintain clear communication with the customer and ensure that their concerns are addressed quickly.
• Maintain this communication with the customers throughout the repair process, including, the customer’s approval of the repair, an estimate of the cost and an expected time of completion.
• Ensure all charges are calculated and posted with accuracy to ensure timely close of Repair Orders
• Identify possible upcoming Preventative Maintenance services with customers and schedule for them.
• Maintain an organized work space and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Other administrative duties as assigned by the Service Manager or Foreman.

Required Experience / Skill Set

• Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Windows based programs and MS Excel & Word. Experience with KARMAK is an Asset
• Minimum of 3 years Automotive / Truck dealership experience.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills with the ability to prioritize and focus in a fast-paced environment

Experience:

• Service Advisor: Minimum 2 years
