Bayview-Trucks---Fredericton is seeking an Evening Service Writer to join the Service department. This role focuses on greeting customers, opening detailed repair orders, and ensuring clear communication throughout the repair process.

You will verify warranty recalls, process claims, and work with the Service Foreman and technicians to address customer concerns efficiently while maintaining organized records and accurate charges.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Windows-based programs including MS Excel & Word.
• Experience with automotive/truck dealership processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers as they arrive and open service orders with complete, accurate details.
• Verify open warranty recalls or campaigns and confirm warranty eligibility.
• Process warranty claims and communicate with the customer on repairs, estimates, and ETA.
• Coordinate with Service Foreman and technicians to keep customers informed during the repair process.
• Ensure charges are calculated correctly and posted to close repair orders in a timely manner.
• Identify and schedule preventative maintenance opportunities with customers.
• Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Job description

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Evenign Service Writer is a confident, energetic, CUSTOMER FOCUSED member of the Service department.

• Greet and WELCOME customers.
• Open Repair orders with accurate and thorough information, including the details of the vehicle concerns, to assist with proper diagnosis.
• Verify open warranty recalls or campaigns available for the customer.
• Confirm Warranty eligibility and process the warranty claims.
• Work with Service Foreman and technicians to maintain clear communication with the customer and ensure that their concerns are addressed quickly.
• Maintain this communication with the customers throughout the repair process, including, the customer’s approval of the repair, an estimate of the cost and an expected time of completion.
• Ensure all charges are calculated and posted with accuracy to ensure timely close of Repair Orders
• Identify possible upcoming Preventative Maintenance services with customers and schedule for them.
• Maintain an organized work space and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Other administrative duties as assigned by the Service Manager or Foreman.

Required Experience / Skill Set

• Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Windows based programs and MS Excel & Word. Experience with KARMAK is an Asset
• Minimum of 3 years Automotive / Truck dealership experience.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills with the ability to prioritize and focus in a fast-paced environment

Experience:

• Service Advisor: Minimum 2 years
