We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

We are seeking an Equipment and Calibration Technician who is responsible for managing calibrations, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing, inspection, and test equipment used in the production of medical devices. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485) and internal quality systems by maintaining accurate records and ensuring equipment operates within specified tolerances.

Please note, this opportunity is an onsite work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Perform verifications and performance checks of manufacturing instruments per an equipment maintenance schedule
  • Coordinate the calibration, maintenance and repair of equipment with external vendors
  • Review calibration records and ensure they’re accurate, complete and meet Kardium’s accuracy, quality system and compliance requirements
  • Work with internal teams to develop equipment requirements, then source and purchase suitable equipment
  • Support spare parts management including maintaining inventory of critical and non-critical spare parts, monitor stock levels and initiated reorders to avoid shortages, organize and label parts storage areas to ensure easy identification
  • Manage the scheduling of calibrations such that equipment is available for use when needed
  • Monitor performance trends and recommend preventative actions and improvements
  • Participate in equipment setup and validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ processes
  • Identify and qualify calibration labs, set up service contracts and negotiate pricing

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes :

  • Associate's degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in calibration or maintenance within a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking and communication skills
  • Familiarity with FDA QSR, ISO 13485, ISO17025 and GMP regulations
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of calibration and measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, multimeters, pressure gauges, temperature probes)
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and documentation
  • Knowledge of equipment management software (e.g., Unipoint or similar) and spare parts systems (e.g D365, SAP)
  • Failure analysis and root cause
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment and parts as required
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications

Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates withmore or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $55,000 - $75,000 (CAD Annually)

Total cash – the total cash we’ve listed for this position includes a base salary, plus a contribution to a Registered Retirement Savings plans (RRSP) to help support your financial goals.
