Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman HVAC Service Technician to join our team in the Nanaimo, British Columbia area. In this role, you will leverage your HVAC expertise to troubleshoot, diagnose, and service a variety of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Candidates with 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

• Start-up and commissioning of Trane controls and HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC systems including split systems, package units, and chillers.
• Service building control systems and optimize their operation.
• Perform replacements and modifications as needed.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Refrigeration License (required).
• Gas B or Gas A certification (preferred, required).
• Over 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC service and maintenance.
• WHMIS certification (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile devices.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to support on-call, overtime, and occasional overnight stays.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to operate vehicles safely.
• Use of safety equipment and PPE.
• Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Exposure to variable weather and environmental conditions.
