Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Calgary is seeking an Electronic Field Technician to perform installations, calibrations, commissioning, service and repair of machine control systems on heavy equipment. Responsibilities include diagnostics and repairs across electronic, mechanical and hydraulic components in field and workshop settings.

You will also open/close work orders, submit technician reports, and assist in mentoring other service team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in electronics or field service.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work independently.
• Willingness to travel to field sites and customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, diagnostics and repairs on electronic devices and components.
• Open, maintain, and close work orders; submit service reports.
• Provide internal and external customer phone support and guidance.
• Mentor, train, and supervise other service team members as needed.
• Travel to customer sites will be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Brandt is currently seeking an Electronic Field Technician for our Calgary location. This position is responsible for performing installations, calibrations, commissioning, service and repair of various machine control systems.

These machine control systems consist of electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic components and are installed on most makes and models of heavy equipment including but not limited to crawler dozers, motor graders, excavators, skid steers, paving systems, etc. These duties may be performed in the field or in a work shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Performing inspections, testing, diagnostics and repairs on electronic devices and components
• Opening, maintaining, and closing work orders
• Submission of technician reports and other relevant information based on the type of work completed
• Internal and external customer phone support
• Mentoring, training, and supervision of other members of the service team
• Travel will be required
• Other duties as assigned
