Job summary

Metro Compactor Service Inc. in Brampton, Canada, is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to test, maintain, diagnose, and repair waste and recycling equipment in our production shop. You will read electrical schematics to install and wire panels with PLCs, relays, sensors, HMIs, motors, solenoids, and hydraulic components.

Hours are 7:00am–3:30pm. Salary range is $24–$26 per hour, with a 5% incentive bonus based on base pay.

Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on experience with panels and sensor components.
Experience assembling panels.
Experience with electrical wiring, commissioning, and repair on panel.
Ability to read and understand electrical circuit drawings to install, diagnose, repair, and replace parts.
Experience with safety interlocks, sensors, relays and motor controls.
PLC commissioning (upgrades, downloads, basic modifications).
Forklift operation is an asset.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and fix control panels.
Run wire, install, and troubleshoot electrical systems per schematics.
Install, wire, and test control panels.
PLC upgrades, downloads, and basic modifications.
Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic components; hydraulic training provided.
Analyze work orders and wiring blueprints to determine supplies and sequencing.
Maintain tidy and safe work area.
Report unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
