Job summary

Atlantic Packaging in Brampton, ON is hiring a Maintenance Electrician to troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems and drive improvements on production lines. The role encompasses preventive maintenance, PLC programming, and supporting new equipment installations in a busy packaging facility.

The ideal candidate holds a 442A license with at least 1 year in manufacturing. Competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits are presented to the successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Certified Licensed Industrial Electrical/Electronics technician (442A)
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Knowledge of PLCs, wiring and applicable standards
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employees

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable operation of all electrical systems via preventive maintenance tasks
• Troubleshoot equipment using manuals and schematic diagrams
• Assist installation of new production lines and equipment
• Carry out equipment repairs using hand tools and electrical test equipment
• Install, troubleshoot and program PLCs and frequency drives
• Complete work orders in CMMS
• Prepare electrical maintenance reports and analyse trends for improvements
• Maintain technical knowledge via workshops and publications
• Maintain ESA logbook and follow safety procedures

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Maintenance Electrician for our Brampton location. The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting electrical breakdowns and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our electrical systems through scheduled preventative maintenance tasks. The hourly wage rate is: $46.06

What You’ll Do

• Ensure the safe and reliable operation of all electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns using manuals and schematic diagrams
• Support the installation of new production lines and equipment
• Carry out equipment repairs using hand tools and electrical test equipment
• Installation, troubleshooting and programming PLCs and frequency drives
• Completion of work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Prepare electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Make recommendations as necessary for improvements
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending education workshops and reviewing technical publications
• Maintain the site ESA logbook
• Follow all Health and safety, ISO and HACCP requirements and procedures
• Follow the Ontario Electrical Safety Code

What You Bring

• Certified Licensed Industrial Electrical/Electronics technician - 442A
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in the paper and packaging industry would be an asset
• Knowledge of PLC’s, wiring, legislated standards
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employees
